Does it hurt?
The treatment can be uncomfortable, and really depends on your pain threshold. For a comfortable experience we recommend attending your appointment on time to allow the topical anesthetic application to have the required time to absorb and take effect in the areas you would like to have treated. The topical anesthetic is applied for 30 mins for the best effect.
What is involved with the treatment?
Your practitioner will apply topical anesthetic to the skin’s surface for 30 mins prior to the treatment, the cream will be removed and the treatment using a small, hand help pen shaped device will apply the treatment. A 60 min appointment is allocated to allow you to relax and receive your after care advice prior to leaving the clinic.
How long will it be before I see results?
An immediate tightening will be seen with the plasma pen and dermal fillers. Once healing has taken place you will see an improvement in skin condition and tone.
Collagen production and skin tightening gets progressively better over 10-24 weeks and continues to improve up to a year later.
How long does it last?
Once collagen is formed, the natural ageing process of breaking down the collagen will then take place. Intrinsic and extrinsic factors can contribute to the collagen breakdown such as UV exposure and smoking. However, depending on the amount of sagging skin, sometimes it may require more than a single session.
How many treatments will I need?
This is a single treatment, but depending on the skin laxity, more than one treatment may be required.
How will my skin look?
The skin will have multiple millimetre trauma marks to the skin’s surface, and as healing occurs the skin will appear dry and flaky. In the first couple of days, redness and swelling will be present. Every individual will vary, others may have more swelling, whereas some may swell for over a week. Pigmentation from the small marks can be present for longer if the scabs come away earlier than expected, for example when lying on one side of the face whilst sleeping.
What are the side effects and risks involved?
Tenderness, redness and swelling are common side effects and are to be expected following the treatment. As the skin starts to heal, itching may occur. After care gel that is included in the price of the treatment, should be used to alleviate the side effects. Other side effects are not limited to, but may include slight redness for a few weeks after the treatment, with a risk of scarring, infection and hyperpigmentation (darker skin) or hypo-pigmentation (lighter skin), being rare but possible.
Are there any specific after care tips?
You will be required to stay out of direct sun light during the healing process. Whilst the scabs are still present you won’t be able to get the areas wet such as having a shower, steam room, swimming or sweating from exercising.
How do I prepare for the procedure?
It is important to have a test patch prior to the treatment. No active sun exposure is important with no active tan being present for the test patch and treatment. We suggest not to apply any cosmetics beforehand, and you should let us know about any recent medical conditions and medications taken.
Is there anything I should do after the treatment?
We advise that you don’t take a hot shower on the day of the treatment, and to keep the area dry for the duration of the scabs being present. It is advised that you don’t apply make-up to the area for the duration of the scabs, as attempting to remove the makeup at the end of the day, can cause the micro-scabs to come away from the skin too early and cause scarring. Sun exposure should be avoided for 4 weeks after the treatment, sunblock application is highly recommended for 4 to 6 weeks after the initial treatment.
What are the contraindications to having the treatment?
Reasons you may not be suitable for the treatment are due to the following. In which case, we would ask for a specialist’s letter stating that they are happy for you to proceed with the treatment, where applicable:
- Metal plates or pins
- Severe circulatory deficiencies inc. ischemic tissue, thrombosis, severe uncontrolled blood pressure
- Severe Cardiovascular conditions
- Pacemaker
- Pregnancy
- Current or recent haemorrhage
- Malignancy and chemotherapy in the past 3 years.
We need to be cautious with certain illnesses, our nurse will confirm your full medical history prior to commencing any treatments.
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment takes less than 30 mins, however, we allow 60 mins per treatment to ensure that you’re happy with the treatment choice and to ensure you’re happy to proceed. The skin is treated and an after care cream is applied.
Are the results after the treatment permanent?
Yes. Once new collagen is stimulated, new collagen is formed. It doesn’t however, stop the ageing process, therefore the natural ageing and collagen breakdown will occur. You can help reduce the natural ageing by protecting the skin from further UVA rays and external environmental damage.
What are the advantages over surgery?
No cutting of the skin
Very low risk procedure
No stitches
There is no thinning of the skin
No general anesthetic
Far less recovery time
Significantly lower cost
Quick and easy treatment
Cryoskin:
Is it safe?
The device is very safe. In terms of programming and electronics, it is managed by a computerized Windows system. The cooling system is controlled by an electronic temperature sensor located in the processing head of the device and the temperature is controlled in real time by the machine and temperature is displayed on the screen. The Cryoskin was launched 5 years ago and is used throughout France. It is currently the most successful non-invasive slimming treatment available in France, the beauty capital of the world. It has been introduced to the US, first in New York City in November 2017. Radiance Float + Wellness is proud to be early adopters of this safe and effective technology in St. Louis, MO.
How does it work?
The treatments lasts for 28 minutes and are performed manually through a massage technique. The session begins with 2 minutes of heat and then a decrease in temperature to -8 ‘C for the duration of the session. The purpose of the treatment is to lower the temperature of the fat cells enough to cause what is known as the phenomenon of apoptosis. This phenomenon is triggered when the temperature of the fat tissue is between 17 and 12 ° and causes these cells to die. These cells are then naturally passed through the body through the lymphatic system and urine.
What are the benefits?
Clinical studies have shown that this technology naturally destroys fat cells, but as with most techniques, the results vary from one individual to another. The expected effect is usually rapid: part of the fat cells are destroyed during the session while the others will be eliminated within 2 to 3 weeks. It has also been proven to help with microcirculation and a significant increase in collagen due to the thermal shock that is caused by the hot and cold.
How does it feel?
The treatment is painless, with some clients describing it as rather pleasant. This is due to the massage technique and the session beginning with skin warming descending into the gradual decrease of temperature.
Who shouldn’t have Cryoskin treatments?
Anyone with the conditions below should not do this treatment:
Severe Raynaud’s syndrome
People who suffer from very poor circulation
Pregnant woman
Severe diabetes
Cancer
How often can I have the treatments?
Slimming treatments can be performed once every 2 weeks and lifting treatments can be performed every 7 days. There is a physiological reason for this: when apoptosis occurs and some fat cells die, waste is formed. The waste will be eliminated by natural routes (blood, lymphatic system, and the urine). Metabolism must therefore be allowed to evacuate this waste without overloading the system.
Can I workout before or after the treatments?
Absolutely there are no side effects to this treatment that will stop you working out. Make sure to keep hydrated and drink plenty of good quality still water.
What do I need to bring?
You do not need to bring anything, we provide you with everything you need. For CryoFacials we will remove your makeup for the best results with the treatment.
What is the difference between this and other Cryotherapy treatments?
There are other manual cryotherapy machines. But tests and experience have shown that no other machine is currently capable of such dramatic results as the Cryoskin. These results are due to the fact that the device does not only produce cold but also heat. The exchange within these temperatures has a dramatic effect on the body’s tissues causing them to drop to 12 ° when fat tissues reach this temperature they die and are passed through the lymphatic system.
Why can I only have the CryoSlimming treatment every 2 weeks?
The natural destruction of fat cells will cause cell waste. This waste is passed through the body naturally, first through the blood then the lymphatic system and then urine and this process on average take 2 weeks.
What happens if I have a session before the 2-week gap?
The results may be compromised by the natural cycle of waste disposal and thus increase the risk of clogging the pathways. This does not represent a significant risk but would compromise the results.
Why can I only have 2 areas done at the same time?
Again, to not overload the body’s elimination pathways. There is also strong internal cooling of the tissues and the treating of more zones at the same time could cause in extreme cases hypothermia and fatigue.
What if I want to do my tummy, face, arms, and legs, can I do them at the same time?
In our opinion and advice: NO
Face and arms in one session
Stomach and legs in another session
In general, it is always advisable to practice treatment on the upper OR lower body in a session.
Do the legs count as 1 area or 2?
The legs would count as one area because you would divide the time between each leg (14 minutes on one leg, 14 minutes on the other).
Can I do an area for longer?
We may extend the time when we are working with someone who has a much larger body mass. Pre-programmed treatments were performed on average body surfaces so are effective across a variety of body types.
What will happen if I spend too long in one area?
The treatment could become a little irritated and local hypothermia could cause some transient (not serious) pain.
Are there any side effects?
There are generally no side effects apart from the amount you urinate to increase slightly over the 3 days following the treatment along with the appearance of your urine in color. In some cases, there was localized redness that disappeared after a few hours and in rare cases, there was local pain that did not exceed 2 to 3 hours.
There may also be some itching without consequences and often this is due to the reaction of certain cosmetic products used by clients; to avoid the chances of this do not use anything before coming in for treatment.
There were some experiences of delayed onset muscle soreness from treatments on the stomach due to unintentionally engaging the abdominals, again disappearing later that same evening.
Who should do this?
Anyone who is looking to lose weight or has stubborn areas of fat they are looking to spot reduce or remove.
Why do you need the gel?
The gel has been specially designed to retain all its qualities of gliding and protection from -30 ° up to + 60 °.
What can I do to maximize the treatment results?
By implementing a healthy lifestyle with a good diet, exercise and detoxification services at Radiance Float + Wellness such as BEMER vascular therapy, Whole Body Sound Vibration, Oxygen Bar, Infrared Sauna, Cryotherapy, IV Nutrient Therapy and drinking Kangen water results can be optimized for maximum fat mobilization and loss. Ask us about nutritional counseling to help you with your new lifestyle.
How long do the results last?
Depending on the individual and depending also on their lifestyle and diet, the results last several months or several years. It is advisable to see how long treatments stay their best on you and engage in booster sessions every month, quarter or more or less often!
How quickly will I see results?
The first results are generally visible from the first session and often very encouraging. However, it should be noted that the best results appear from 15 days to 3 weeks after the start of treatment and extend for several months after the end of treatment.
